The Guild is one of my favorite shows. Not only was it an early pioneering YouTube series, it helped Felica Day, the creator and start, break out into other shows, movies and other ventures.
The series premiered in 2007, and I didn’t jump onboard until 2011, which was the show’s 4th season. I was hooked, and I couldn’t get enough of the show, the characters, and the concept. It was a show about gamers, made by gamers.
At the time, I was no longer playing video games. In fact, it had been almost 10 years since I had played any video games. I was over 30 years old, married and raising a daughter. My love for this show was part of the reason why I got back into video games.
I was also fascinated by the DIY aspect of the show, and the story of Felicia Day making the show. The creativity, courage and determination it took to make each season is very inspiring. The Guild holds a special place in my heart.
So, the news recently came out that there are plans for a Guild reunion movie! It’s currently on Kickstarter, so it’s early days. I certainly hope they get the chance to make this movie. I know they will pour their heart and soul into making this reunion something to treasure.
